Griffith, Marjorie E. April 5, 1933 - November, 23, 2019. Marjorie, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday the 23rd, at the Josie Harper Hospice House of Omaha (for noncancer medical conditions). Born in Des Moines, daughter of Mont & Lucy Murphy. She attended Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and Business School for Bookkeeping and Key Punch Operator. When young she worked for Sorensens as Bookkeeper and Bankers Life & Employers Mutual as Key Punch Operator (all in Des Moines). She worked as Homemaker from July 1967 - December 1982, raising three children, Jean (Sharma) of Ames, IA, Jill (Orr) of Council Bluffs, and Sean "Jeff" of Omaha. From 1982 - 1996 she worked both for Younkers (Westroads and Crossroads) and Dillards (Crossroads) all in the Mens Retail Clothing. She was recognized for "Outstanding Sales" at both Younkers and Dillards. Marjorie made many friends who she would lunch with during her break at the Malls Food Court. Mom met Dale Griffith while they both worked for Employers Mutual Insurance of Des Moines and married September 1959. They moved to Omaha in July 1967 when Dale was transferred with an Insurance Co. Dale, husband of 57 Years, proceeded her in death at April 2016, and brothers William Murphy (KY) and John Murphy (Des Moines) and her sisters Colleen Stundins (Des Moines), Patricia Hood (KS) and Verlaine Murphy (TX) proceeded her. Marjorie is survived by Nephew Dr. Wm. Murphy of Gainesville (who she helped raise with her sister Colleen), her three children (above) and their families including her four grandchildren - Doug and Benjamin Orr (Council Bluffs) and Monika Sharma (Los Angeles) & Kiran Sharma (Iowa City). While the Griffith Children were growing up, the Family attended First United Methodist Church (Omaha) for many years and Marjorie was baptized by the Disciples of Christ Church (Drake University) where she attended this neighborhood church growing-up. Beginning in December 2013, Marjories son Sean provided non-medical caregiving chores for both parents on-call. Only within the last year was Marjorie a resident of Assisted Living here in Omaha. Marjories remains were cremated with a Family-Only Burial of Ashes to be held graveside at a Date to-be-determined (Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery of Omaha) with lunchout to follow.
