Anna Marie Hastings Obituary

Anna Marie Hastings, 42, of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away on April 20, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Anna was born on August 10, 1983, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Donald and Alice Brown. She was raised in Fremont and attended Fremont schools, graduating from Fremont High School in 2001.

Throughout her life, Anna held various positions in healthcare, with memory care work holding a special place in her heart. She also spent time waitressing and was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. No matter where she worked, Anna had a natural ability to connect with people and make them feel cared for.

In July of 2023, Anna became engaged to the love of her life, Barry Hastings, and the two were married on December 14, 2024. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and making memories with those they cherished most.

Anna was an amazing cook and loved bringing people together through food. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bowling, camping, swimming, singing, and cheering on the Fremont Moo baseball team. She was known for always putting others before herself and for her caring heart, positive attitude, and unwavering kindness. She was a true friend to many, and people will remember her for how deeply she loved others and how effortlessly she made those around her feel special.

She found comfort in her faith and began attending Fremont Alliance Church in 2024.

Anna is survived by her loving husband, Barry Hastings; daughter, Jacqueline (Harley); son, Charlie; parents, Donald and Alice Brown; sister, Holly; mother and father-in-law, Barb and Dan Kunce; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Cindy Hastings; sisters-in-law, Jamie (Donnie) and Kimberley (Thomas); brother-in-law, Garry (Hannah); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Fremont Alliance Church, located at 1615 N. Lincoln Avenue in Fremont, Nebraska. A luncheon will follow the memorial service.
