Carroll James Dobson passed away May 24, 2025 at the Omaha, Nebraska Josie Harper Hospice House at the age of 81 years.
He was born August 8, 1943 to Harry J and Thelma D Dobson in Saint Edward, Nebraska. He grew up in Cedar and attended St Anthony Catholic grade school and graduated from Cedar High in 1961. As a kid, his love for sports kept him busy all year long.
After being discharged from the Air Force at Altus, Oklahoma, where he was an MP, he went to Texas. He started working got a vending machine company in Dallas and then moved to Houston and started his own business in the vending machine repair service, known as C and H.
On July 21, 1972, he married Gloria Ann Hackemack and she passed away September of 1993.
Due to failing health, he returned to Nebraska after 58 years of being a Texan, to live with his sister in Omaha.
Carroll is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Thelma Dobson; and wife Gloria Dobson; and brothers-in-law David Cuba and Garry Smith.
He is survived by his step-daughter Donna (Mike) Farley; sister Dorothy Smith; "#1 son" Huyen; niece Shirley (Paul) Zeek; nephews Scott (Christine) Cuba and Stanley (Ginger) Cuba; and great-nieces and nephews Kirsten Cuba, Haley Cuba, Matthew Cuba, Chase Cuba, Bruce Cantwell, and Wesley Zeek; step-granddaughters Tiffany, Sandy, and Robin, along with their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; cousins Jim, Jerry, and Mary; and other family.
