In Loving Memory of Chris "Pippy" Pipkins

Chris was a man of action, heart, and unwavering resilience. Known for his incredible work ethic and his ability to fix or build almost anything, he lived by the belief that if you set your mind to something, you can overcome any setback. Whether it was at home, in the yard, or on the job, Chris took pride in doing things the right way.

A Dedicated Professional & Craftsman

After graduating high school, Chris headed to California to pursue a heavy machine certification, a testament to his lifelong love for how things worked. His career was defined by the relationships he built. During his years at Home Depot, he didn't just climb the ladder; he turned coworkers into an extended family. Most recently, he spent several years at Oriental Trading, where his dedication to excellence and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.

Passion for Life's Simple Pleasures

Chris was a "Roll Tide" fan through and through, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. When he wasn't watching sports or a classic John Wayne movie, he could be found in the kitchen. He was a passionate cook who loved experimenting with new recipes and flavors.

He found peace in the outdoors, especially during time spent at the family river. He also had a festive spirit, taking great joy in decorating the yard for Christmas and making the holidays bright for his neighborhood and family.

A Legacy of Dependability

Above all, Chris was a family man. He was a hardworking husband who could always be counted on to fix anything that needed repairing; there wasn't a problem in the home he couldn't solve for his wife, Melanie. He was immensely proud of his children-Austen, Leigha, and Colton-and his greatest wish was for them to strive for success and lead lives as "good people."

Chris was preceded in death by his sister, Annette; his mother, Wilhelmenia; his sister-in-law, Belinda; and his father-in-law, Micheal. (And other close family friends and extended family). While his unexpected passing has left a tragic void that cannot be filled, his family takes comfort in knowing he has been reunited with those who went before him-and that they are surely throwing him one hell of a party.
