Clare Ann Tischer, 89, was peacefully promoted to Heaven on May 17, 2026, in Omaha, NE. Throughout her final days and up to the exact moment of her passing, she was enveloped in the love of her family.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Clare was born in Washington, DC, the eldest of five children born to Clarence and Anne Seitz. Excelling in academics from a young age, she channeled her passion for learning into a career as a dedicated teacher, spending many years teaching mathematics within Catholic Diocesan schools. Following her retirement, she continued to serve her community through volunteering and poured her heart into helping raise her grandchildren. She shared her love generously, and truly, there was not a selfish bone in her body.
Clare's greatest legacy is her devotion to her family. She was the cherished wife of Richard Tischer and a deeply loving mother to James and Anita. She took immense joy in caring for and spending time with her six grandchildren-Johnathan, Bethany, Kara, Cassandra, Chelsea, and Jennifer-and her two great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Hoyt.
Full of fun and warmth, Clare loved playing cards, with Canasta and UNO being family favorites. She treasured family vacations and possessed an impressive knowledge of geography, always finding joy in studying maps. Clare was also an exceptional cook, famous for her delicious porcupine meatballs-a legendary recipe her family still tries (and promises to keep trying) to perfectly replicate. In her final months, she brought her bright spirit to her community at Crown Pointe in Omaha, where she enjoyed playing bingo and attending singalongs.
A small, intimate prayer service was held on May 19 at the Crown Pointe Chapel. The family will plan a celebration of Clare's life at a future date. Her remains will be placed in a niche in Dayton, OH.
