Colby Allen Goodwin

Colby Allen Goodwin, 34, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on March 9, 2026.

Colby was born on September 11, 1991, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the beloved son of Toby Goodwin and Victoria Baumgartner, who preceded him in death. Throughout his life, Colby was surrounded by family and built strong relationships with those he loved.

Colby is survived by his father, Toby Goodwin, and stepmother, BethAnn Goodwin; his stepfather, Robert Baumgartner; and his brothers, Thomas Goodwin, Carter Goodwin, and Anthony Baumgartner. He is also survived by numerous stepbrothers and stepsisters. In addition, he leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and close friends whom he considered family and who will miss him dearly.

Colby had a natural talent for fixing things. There was not a project he would not try to tackle. He loved building things from scratch and was always tinkering with something. Colby especially enjoyed working with his 3D printer, scooters, and anything related to computers. Friends and family often turned to him when something was broken, and he had a remarkable ability to fix things others could not.

Colby was dedicated to helping others not only in life, but also in death. Through the gift of organ donation, Colby will continue to live on by helping others and giving them a second chance at life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Baumgartner.

Colby will be remembered for his generous spirit, his creative mind, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

The family kindly asks that any donations be made to the mortuary to assist with the costs of cremation. Any support during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.

Though he is gone too soon, Colby’s legacy of helping others will continue to make a difference for years to come.
