Dale Elwood Mueller, age 73, passed away on July 22, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born on November 7, 1952, in Marinette, Wisconsin, to his loving parents, Lloyd Mueller and Rose DelFosse.

Dale dedicated 20 proud years of service to his country in the United States Navy, traveling the world, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to duty and honor. Following his military career, he became the instructor of the Land Surveying and Civil Engineering program at Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska. He mentored countless students over the years. In keeping with his lifelong spirit of service, Dale's final act of generosity was the gift of organ donation, giving life and hope to others.

On December 26, 1984, Dale married the love of his life, Joni. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family and shared memories over more than four decades of marriage.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Joni; his daughter, Megan Rodgers, and her husband, Darin; sisters, Jane and Marilyn; and his three cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Mackenzie, and Devlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Rose.

A casual memorial service celebrating Dale's life and military service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 28th at his place of worship, Christ Place Church, 1111 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln, NE 68512. In keeping with Dale's wishes and the casual nature of the service, the family welcomes guests to attend in comfortable, casual attire. Burial of remains will take place at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Waverly, NE. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to donate to your local VFW in his name.

We take comfort in knowing he has returned home to his Savior, leaving behind a beautiful example of a life well-lived. "He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7) He will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
