Dawn Michelle VanScoyk passed away February 4, 2020 at the age of 50 at her parents home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dawn was born February 8, 1969, in Lincoln, NE,to George (Dan) and Rebecca Pitzer of Council Bluffs.
She was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, class of 1987. Dawn was a proud mother who loved spending time with her family and many friends. She had a great love of children and blessed many families with her wonderful, in-home daycare and she cared for those children as her very own. Dawn enjoyed live music, dancing, camping, boating, long motorcycle rides and was a faithful animal lover. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyful spirit.
Dawn is survived by her parents, three children: Brandi Belt of Council Bluffs, Josh VanScoyk of Perry, IA, and Hayley VanScoyk of Omaha, eight grandchildren, brother Troy (Amy) Pitzer, and former husband, Greg Van Scoyk of Hancock, IA, other special extended family and many loyal friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date and will be announced via social media.
