Deann Katherine Pickerell, 80, of Bellevue, Nebraska, passed away on March 6, 2026.

Deann was born on August 8, 1945, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Homer and Vera Bovee. She grew up on a farm in Iowa, where she met her future husband, Everett “Raymond” Pickerell. The couple married on August 22, 1964.

Ray served in the military, and together they raised three children. While raising her family, Deann was primarily a stay-at-home mother. Later, she owned and operated her own business providing services for elderly and disabled individuals, helping meet their daily needs with compassion and care.

Deann had a deep love for quilting and cooking, spending countless hours enjoying both. She wrote many recipes inspired by cooking shows and took great delight in trying new dishes in search of her favorites.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie (Dan) Iiams, Wendy Coffey, and Scott Pickerell; her four grandchildren, Maddie, Kenzi, Anna, and Emma; her siblings, Loren (Kaye) Bovee, Denny (Darlene) Bovee, and Carol Perry; her sister-in-law, Cathy Bovee; her brother-in-law, Richard (Cheri) Pickerell; numerous nieces and nephews; a longtime family friend, Chuck Cook; and her beloved cat, Fluffy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Pickerell; her parents, Vera and Homer Bovee; her parents-in-law, Freda (Ellery) Pickerell Davis; and her brother, Ronald Bovee.

A private family service will be held, with a celebration of life being planned for a future date.
