Delores Bruckner

Delores Marie Bruckner went home to her Heavenly Father on August 2, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 67 years. She was born July 12, 1958 in Omaha.

She graduated from Holy Name High School in 1976 and worked various jobs before finding her calling in the culinary arts. Working hard to achieve her life’s aspiration, she graduated from Metro Community College while becoming a Certified Chef de Cuisine through the American Culinary Federation. She continued working for Metro for 13 years where she shared her skills, inspiration, and joyous personality with staff and students. After Metro, Delores worked for multiple Omaha restaurants where she was able to do what she enjoyed most, preparing her favorite Italian dishes. She finished her career at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In retirement, she found her next life’s calling by pouring into the care and education of her grandson.

In her 50s, Delores came to faith in Jesus Christ, and this would become foundational to the person she was. She never hesitated to share her testimony with those who came across her path. In May 2025 Delores was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Although her health deteriorated quickly, she was carried by the peace of her Christian faith, and the love and support of her friends and family.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents James and Frances Bruckner; brothers James "Jim" Bruckner, Jr. and Bob Bruckner; and sisters-in-law Joanne Bruckner and Judy Baldwin.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Bruckner and her fiance, Joel; grandson Isaiah Bruckner; brother Mike (Cindy) Bruckner; and nieces, nephews, and other family.
