Jamie Ann McQuiston

Jamie Ann (Weidenhammer) McQuiston was born July 30th,1974 in Omaha, NE to Joy and Steve
Weidenhammer. She passed away surrounded by her husband & family on November 7th, 2022.
Jamie came into this world about 1 month after her due date. She was born with a full head of
hair and was basically already a month old. She was her parents' second child and they were
excited to welcome her into this world. Jamie was just a delightful child. She was goofy and
funny. Her family has many fond memories of "Jamie-isms" that made them all laugh. Hamming it
up for photos was a specialty. She was always a sweet and kind girl. Maturing into a young adult,
she kept the sweetness and kindness that most people who knew her admired and mentioned
about her. Her voice remained very childlike in tone and it was a distinction for her.
Jamie was a 1992 graduate of Bonanza High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She started college
at the University of Nevada Reno, but moved back to Omaha in 1995. She enrolled in the
University of Nebraska and received a B.S. in Interior Design in May 1999.
She and Cory met in 2006 and were married on October 13, 2012. They started their life together
in Lincoln with Cory's young son Avery. They later moved to Holdrege, NE in 2021. Jamie
enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, knitting (hats, scarves, and hot pads) and she was an avid
reader. She adored animals. She and Cory had no children together, but had a houseful of pets:
dogs Gizmo, Maddy, and Nova, and cats Phoebe and Daphne. Those pets were her "children."
Jamie loved and cared for all of them.
She was also a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephew. She always had photos of them around
her home and visited them to celebrate their achievements when she could.
Jamie had dreamed of working in a veterinary office and that dream came to fruition in the last
two years that she and Cory lived in Lincoln when she worked at the South Ridge Animal Clinic.
She got the chance to rescue and be a surrogate mother to a baby kitten, Phoebe. It was a
dream of hers to have that opportunity.
Jamie contended with health issues and complications from Type 1 Diabetes for most of her adult
life. She persistently combated the ups and downs of being a diabetic, but her life was still taken
when we weren't expecting it.
There was so much Jamie still wanted to do, including spending more time with her husband
Cory and her beloved pets. Jamie had a passion for interior design, and she had been working
diligently to remodel their home in Holdrege.
We will all remember Jamie for her sweet voice, adorable laugh and raunchy sense of humor.
She had the ability to make everyone laugh, especially Cory. Anytime you hung out with them
together, they were always sharing funny stories and cracking each other up. They were truly
each other's best friend and favorite person to be with
Jamie was deeply loved by her immediate family, and her husband Cory lost a true soulmate. Her
father Steve and sister Jody and her family are devastated. She will be deeply missed by the
entire McQuiston & Weidenhammer families and all of her friends and people that she touched
during her shortened life.
She is survived by her devoted husband Cory, her father Steve, her step-son Avery, her sister
Jody Waters and brother-in-law Jeremy and their children, Dylan, Mackenzie, and Madison. Her
father-in-law Mike McQuiston, mother-in-law Connie Poole, sister-in-law Amber McQuiston and a
whole host of relatives and friends who loved and cherished this wonderful friend, wife, daughter
& sister.

We will love you & miss you forever.
