Jay Robert Perry

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jay Perry, who lost his battle with liver cancer on July 31, 2026 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron J. (Bud) and Margaret (Margie) Perry and older siblings and spouse John E. Perry, James M. (Kay) Perry, and Joseph C. Perry.

Jay was born in Illinois and raised in Skokie, where he spent his early years surrounded by a large and loving family. One of eight children, he cherished the lifelong bonds he shared with his five brothers and two sisters. He remained part of an active friendship group dating back to that original Skokie neighborhood and encompassing high school friends at Niles East. Jay graduated from Mundelein College (incorporated into Loyola University) with a degree in accounting. A dedicated and respected professional, Jay owned and operated his own tax and accounting CPA practice in Omaha after paying his dues in public accounting. He built lasting relationships with his clients through his integrity, expertise, and commitment to helping others, always going above and beyond. His work reflected the same values he lived by-honesty, hard work, and generosity.

Outside of his career, Jay had a passion for many of the Chicago professional sports teams (Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks) as well as a love for true crime documentaries. Jay enjoyed watching golf tournaments and listening to music, and was a lifelong Bob Dylan fan. Jay will be remembered for his warmth, his sense of humor, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his ability to make others feel welcome.

Jay is survived by his beloved wife, Beth Perry of Omaha, NE, and his cherished daughter, Hannah Perry of Washington, DC, along with siblings and their spouses Barbara L. (Jack) White, Peggy A. (Vince) Martin, Denis W. Perry, and Andrew M. (Teresa) Perry, sisters-in-law Kathy Perry and Mary Perry, multiple nieces and nephews including grands and greats, dear friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Memorial gatherings will be held in 2 locations. On August 22, 2026 we will be assembling at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago O'Hare Airport, 2930 S. On August 25, 2026, we will be meeting in Omaha, NE at the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Southwest, 3650 S. 72nd St from 5-8 PM (contact Shirley Santiago Sopon 402-718-4802).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Jay's memory. Jay's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed.
