Jerry was born on March 22, 1946 in Omaha, NE. His parent's were Vernelle and Jack Fritz. He was the first of 6 children. His siblings are: Kathie, Doug, Cyndee, Joel and Jaki.
His grandparents, Frank and Hazel Plummer owned the Castelar Apartments on South 13th Street in Omaha and that is where Jerry grew up. Jerry spent many of his childhood summers in Minnesota at his grandfather's resorts near Park Rapids and Pelican Rapids. He attended Tech High School and joined the US Navy in 1964. Also, in 1964 he married Shari Schoville in San Diego, CA. Their first son, Jerry Jr. was born the next year in 1965.
In 1966 Jerry was deployed overseas and served his country in Vietnam. Jerry and Shari's second son, Jeff was born in 1967 while Jerry was in Vietnam. After his military service, Jerry returned to Omaha, eventually settling in South Omaha close to where he grew up. His family continued to grow with the birth of three more children: June, Joleen and Justina. Jerry loved to fish and the family spent many summer vacations swimming and fishing at 'the lake' in Minnesota.
Jerry worked for many years at the Vickers Plant on North 72nd Street in Omaha. When the plant closed in 2001 he worked as an over-the-road truck driver. Jerry and Shari then moved to a small farm near Logan, IA. for seven years. They raised a few cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and had a big garden. Jerry then moved to Maine where he has lived for the last fifteen years.
Jerry has 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
