Jill Marie Baker, age 68, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on December 22, 2025.
Jill was a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.
Jill was born in Omaha, Ne to Roscoe and Jane Heydenreich. She was raised in rural Richfield, Ne with her older brother, Richard, and younger sister, Judy, where she attended Platteview Public Schools. After graduating in 1975, she moved to Millard, NE for work, where she met the love of her life, Larry Baker, on April Fool's Day. Larry and Jill were married February 18th, 1977. They had three children, Chad, Sheena, and Brent. In 1990, the family moved to Valley, NE, where Jill was a staple in the community, working at the school for 10 years, and then the local bank.
Jill cherished her family above all else. Whether it was a concert, sports activity, or other event, Jill was always there supporting her kids, and eventually her grandkids. Jill's kindness, selflessness, and love for others was well known amongst all who had the privilege of meeting her. Known by many as "Mama Bakes", Jill opened her home and heart to many of her children's friends throughout the years. She had an impact on many lives and that will be cherished forever.
Jill is proceeded in death by her parents, Roscoe & Jane Heydenreich; and her beloved horse, Chahna.
Jill is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry; her children, Chad (Emily), Sheena (DJ), Brent (Trisha); her grandchildren, Taylor, Alyssa, Ryleigh, Dominic, Bently, and Addison; and one great granddaughter, Elena Rae. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Martha) and sister, Judy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
Jill faced life with strength, resilience, and grace, even in the most difficult times. Though her life ended far too soon, she left a lasting impression and memories that will live on forever. Jill we be missed by many and never forgotten.
