Lewis Michael Barbas passed away peacefully in the afternoon of March 1, 2026 in Omaha, NE at the age of 69. He was held by all of us and wrapped in the love of family. He was born September 9, 1956 and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.

Lewis preceded in death by, Genevieve E. Barbas and Gust L. Barbas; and many loving family members and friends who welcomed him home. He is survived by his children Roy Tanner, Michael Barbas, Christopher Barbas, Athena Morton, his son-in-law Tanner Morton, his grandchildren Michael, Kai, Callum, his siblings Barbara Girton, Jacqueline Darr, Theodore Barbas, and the mothers of his children, Constance Barbas and Betty Tanner.

Known for his incredible kindness, Lewis Barbas was the nicest person you could ever meet. He had a heart full of love and would always go out of his way to help others, often putting their needs before his own. Whether it was a simple gesture or a selfless act, he had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him feel valued and cared for.

He was also deeply passionate about his family, always making time for the people he loved. His devotion to his family was evident in everything he did, from his unwavering support to the joy he found in spending time with them. He was a proud supporter of the Minnesota Vikings and Nebraska Cornhuskers, loved spending time with his two cats, and had a lifelong passion for cars.
