Linda Sorensen

March 17, 1955 — October 19, 2025

Our beloved Linda entered her Savior’s rest after a courageous battle that kept her hospital-bound for much of this year. A woman of quiet strength and radiant kindness, she faced every valley with faith and grace. Years ago, she overcame the trials of a kidney transplant; this year, she met her final journey with the same courage that defined her life.

Linda’s love was expansive. She became “Mom” to many through foster care and adoption—opening her home, her table, and her heart to those who needed family. She believed in chosen family, and she lived it beautifully. If you knew Linda, you were welcomed, fed, and made to feel cherished. Her advice was readily available and well received.

A gifted baker and cook, Linda created joy in baked goodies and home-cooked meals. Her cakes marked milestones, her recipes wrapped ordinary days in comfort, and In every season, she used her gifts to celebrate others.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Helen (Ellis) Haines; her brother, Daniel (Linda) Haines; and her son, Patrick Welsh.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronnie Sorensen; her brother, Kenny (Francie) Haines; her foster daughter, Sylvia Czornyj; grandchildren Seth Stickman, Ian Stickman, and Kora Bingham; Shannon and Kurt Bingham (parents of grandchildren); and many, many relatives and friends who became family along the way.
