Mary Catherine (Sowokinos) Samson

Mary Catherine (Sowokinos) Samson, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mary was born on April 4, 1952, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Otto and Harriette Sowokinos, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Omaha South High School in 1970.

She is survived by her son, Matthew R. Wichser and his wife, Sabrina, of South Jordan, Utah; and her beloved grandchildren, Lily, 16, and James, 12.

Mary will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and kind-hearted woman with a positive outlook on life. She had a lifelong passion for reading and a deep love for animals.

Mary's family will cherish the memories they shared with her and will forever remember her love, kindness, and unwavering positivity.

Funeral and memorial service arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
