Rick Logsdon

December 13, 1943 — June 29, 2025

Rick Alan Logsdon, age 81, of Papillion, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025.

Rick was born on December 13, 1943, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Victor Logsdon and Newa Frances (Kent) Logsdon. He married Kathy Hall in Columbus Junction, Iowa, in 1972. The couple moved from Marshalltown to Omaha, Nebraska, in 1984.

His journey was highlighted by exploration, new experiences, and old comforts. Rick held many careers in his lifetime—from real estate agent and bail bondsman to bar owner and private investigator. His life’s work was pursuing his own interests at his own pace. Having owned many of his own businesses, Rick eventually settled with a home office in real estate, the field in which he spent most of his career. He loved his wife Kathy more than anything in the world and dedicated much of his time to being her loving husband.

Rick was a people person. A natural connector, who could talk for hours—and say goodbye for longer. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, friends, and family as much as staying home to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for anyone who visited.

Rick was a 32nd Degree Freemason of the Scottish Rite. He believed people should do right by one another and give thanks to the Lord. Still, he remained skeptical of the obvious and intrigued by the unknown, always willing to help or hear out anyone with a story to tell. Those who knew him characterized him by his undimmable spark and magnetic energy, evident in the many friends, neighbors, and family who loved him.

Rick is survived by his children Scott (Charlene) Logsdon, Trish (Steve) Brilhart, and Tiffany Walker; his grandchildren Cameron (Julia), Benjamin, Jacob, and Cameron-Arttis; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother Ronald Logsdon.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church 4814 Oaks Lane, Omaha, NE, with visitation beginning at 1:30 PM.

Rick believed in supporting his community as well as the education and cultural preservation of Native American populations, especially children. He and Kathy donated in support of these causes as often as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank for the Heartland or the First Nations Development Institute.
