Ronald Combs

Ron Combs 55, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away August 19th, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska after a long battle with Cancer.

Born August 21st, 1969 in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Betty Combs, he was raised in Dexter, Iowa where he attended school and played football for the Dexfield Bluedevils.

He married Peggy Royer(Hurley) on September 3rd, 1993. Together they raised three children and enjoyed spending time with their two granddaughters.

Ron loved Football and Nascar. He enjoyed dirt track racing which he participated in for a number of years on a track in Stuart, he also participated in pool leagues for many years.

Throughout his life, he owned a semi, a painting company with his brother-in-law Roger, and was a carpenter and a diesel mechanic.

Ron most loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy Combs of Council Bluffs. Two daughters, Angela Chapman (Brad) of Virginia, Echo Combs (John) of

Des Moines, Iowa and one son, Brad Combs of Malvern, Iowa. His mother Betty Combs and sister Shawne Combs both of Stuart, Iowa.

Two granddaughters, Erica Chapman of Virginia and Sawyer Allen of Des Moines, Iowa. Sisters-in-law Brandy Combs, Jackie Combs, Patty(Jeff) Long and Mary Hurley.

Also surviving him, a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.

He is preceeded in death by his father James Combs, two brothers Randell and Patrick(Jo) Combs, brothers-in-law Roger Morrison and Paul Hurley, his mother and father-in-law Mel and Helen Hurley, both sets of grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Per his wishes Ron has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Ron's memory to the Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City.
