Sonja Pointer

Sonja Ranae Smith passed away September 18, 2025 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 55 years. She was born August 13, 1970 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Sonja is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Shirley Smith.

She is survived by her children Carl Relyea and Kyle (Shyann Pearson) Relyea; grandchildren Erika and Robyn; one grandchildren on the way; brother Heath (Nancy) Smith; sister Sarah (Steve) Geary; and numerous of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Sonja was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and loved both family and friends with all her heart. She never shied away from helping others when she could and loved to make memories with those closest to her.

Her sudden passing comes as a tragedy and she will be severely missed by all who knew and loved her.
