Carl Junior Anderson

Anderson, Carl Junior Age 79 Died in hospice on November 18, 2015. Carl was born on October 25, 1936 in Fort Dodge, IA, the younger of two children born to Carl and Nora Anderson, and was raised in Rockwell City, IA.

Also known as "Abie", Carl graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1954. He attended Wartburg College in Waverly, IA and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 1960. He participated in track and field as a high jumper, and was a member of Iowa's All-Time Letterwinners' Club.

After graduation, Carl served in the United Stated Army where he was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington DC. While working at Phillips Petroleum Company, he met and later married Doris Lorraine Nelson on October 21, 1967. Carl left Phillips after 15 years, moving from Omaha to Colby, KS, where he owned and operated a gasoline and oil distributorship. Carl and Doris moved back to Omaha in 2005. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Norma Fuller.

Carl is survived by his wife Doris Anderson; his sister Carol (Horace) Copple; his children, Carl Jay Anderson (Kimberly) and Lisa Carter (Michael); his granddaughter Marin Carter; his nephew Bob Fuller and nieces, Nancy Fuller, Rebecca Orr and Heidi Padilla (Glen).

Cremation has taken place. Carl's life will be celebrated privately by his immediate family at a later date.
